2019 New Year’s resolutions, part I: Checking eligibility

There are so many things that can go wrong for your practice if the incorrect insurance is listed. Checking eligibility prior to the new year and before rendering services can help you avoid some time consuming and costly errors.

The provider portal is your primary tool to obtain member information. You can verify member eligibility by searching by the member ID, name, or date of birth.

Primary Care Providers can access a full list of their patients in the member roster report (Reports tab > Enrollment Reports). Contact us at prweb@nhp.org for support.

Eligibility information is also available on the New England Healthcare Exchange Network (NEHEN). Visit Nehen.net

The switch to AllWays Health Partners

Don’t forget that NHP is becoming AllWays Health Partners on January 1.

Members are getting new cards with new member ID prefix’s:

  • The ID prefix for commercial members will change from “NHP” to “COM." For existing members, the 7 numeric characters following the prefix will not change.
  • Partners HealthCare plan members will have a unique prefix of “CDW”
  • You can preview the new member cards in our recent post. We’ll also be sharing more information about the Partners HealthCare employee plan soon. Make sure you’re subscribed to this blog so you don’t miss that important post.

Product names will also change:

  • “Complete” products indicate that member has access to our full network
  • “Choice” products indicate access to our full network with hospitals tiered for certain services

Our provider portal will move to allwaysprovider.org on January 1st, but it will have the same functionality described above. You’ve let us know how much you like our portal, so we’re not changing any of the easy-to-use features you’ve come to rely on.
